Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and the developer of the Passenger mobile app ("Passenger", "we", "us"). By downloading or using Passenger, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Important — not therapy. Passenger is a self-coaching and personal-growth tool based on a structured coaching method. It is not therapy, counseling, medical or mental-health care, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis or your safety is at risk, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.

1. What Passenger is

Passenger provides an AI-guided self-coaching experience: you describe what's on your mind, and an automated coach guides you through a method of steps to help you gain clarity and choose a small next action. Responses are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not suitable for your situation. Use your own judgment and do not rely on the app for professional, legal, financial, or medical advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Passenger, and you must have the legal capacity to accept these Terms.

3. Your account and data

Passenger works without a traditional account. You are identified by an anonymous device ID; we do not collect your name, email, or phone number. You are responsible for the device you use. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Subscriptions, billing and free trial

Your first session is free. Continued access to sessions and certain features requires an auto-renewing subscription.
Subscriptions are offered on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis. Prices are shown in the app before purchase.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase.
Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; we do not process card data and generally cannot issue refunds directly.
Prices may change; we will seek your consent for increases where required, and changes do not apply retroactively to a period already paid.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use Passenger for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose;
attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its systems;
attempt to extract, manipulate, or misuse the underlying AI system or its instructions;
upload content that infringes the rights of others or violates applicable law.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the text and voice messages you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to process Your Content solely to operate and improve the service (for example, to generate coach responses, transcribe voice, and store your history). You are responsible for what you submit.

7. Intellectual property

The app, the coaching method, its content, and all related trademarks and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights in them except the limited right to use the app as intended.

8. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate or suitable for you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of or reliance on the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Changes to the service and Terms

We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We may update these Terms; the "Last updated" date will change and, for significant changes, we will provide notice in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using Passenger at any time and delete your data in the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to comply with law.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the developer's place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
